Under the guidance under the direction of Frank Connelly, their first manager, they spent some time on Boston's clubs circuit. The band then started working with Steve Leber (New York) and David Krebs (New York). They then signed a recording deal in 1972 and released their eponymous debut album in 1973. The album was then followed by Get Your Wings, Toys in the Attic, Rocks, and Draw the Line, which helped propel Aerosmith to worldwide fame and recognition. The albums featured legendary hits like "Dream On", "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion". Aerosmith's five first albums all were multi-platinum. Toys in the Attic and Rocks were also multi-platinum. As the decade went by, however, the band's life of constant traveling, recording, and living together started to wear them down. Because of their famed use of heroin and stimulants, Tyler and Perry were known as the Toxic Twins. Aerosmith Behind the Music contains numerous videos that demonstrate their friendship. Tyler, apparently much more committed to the band was able to feel resentful towards Perry's passiveness and admire Perry's preference for females in his life. Aerosmith's steady decline is likely because of the tension between Tyler and Perry and their once-friendly companions.
